We plant/harvest circa 90 hectares every year on our farm. We have discovered with our mild winters we get our heaviest crop in the new year, allowing for a longer growing season. Spreading the harvest has proved to be very beneficial for feeding the biogas plant all year round. Yields on our chalky soils are typically 70 tons a hectare. We use a Vaeret 17t harvester. To minimize mud on the roads we bring the beet to the edge of the field and load out into trailers with a chaser trailer.
Beet Harvesting kit with an EdenHall Chaser Bin, ideal for keeping the mud off the road.
